First Lutheran Church – COVID -19 Guidelines                                    Revised as of April 14, 2021

 

General information to know:

  • Everyone present will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing.

  • Masks and hand sanitizer will be available at entrances to worship.

  • Attendance will be taken by a volunteer upon arrival.

  • Appropriate directional signage will be placed in those areas to be accessed and those areas where access is prohibited.

 

People who should plan NOT to attend include:

  • If you feel ill or have symptoms that may be related to Covid-19.

  • If you are at high risk

  • If you have been exposed to Covid-19

 

Entry to the building:

  • ALL entrances will be open.

  • Elevator door will be open.

  • Saturday folks will follow the path down the hallway to the Social Hall.

  • Sunday folks will follow the path through the Lounge to the sanctuary or follow signage as they enter the front sanctuary doors.

  • ALL doors to the sanctuary will stand open.

  • NO gathering in the Narthex, Lounge, hallways is allowed.

  • All restrooms are open for use.

 

Entry to the Social Hall (Saturday):

  • All people will enter via the elevator and then through the open doors into the Social Hall, as designated.

  • Worshippers will pick-up a bulletin from a table at the entrance.

  • Offering may be deposited in the basket provided.

  • People are advised to take your seats ASAP – Please sign-in. NO gathering anywhere in the Social Hall

  • Available seating will be designated by the spacing of the chairs.

  • All single people must sit by themselves. Family members may sit together. Social distancing will be practiced at all times.

  • Bibles, communion cards, etc. have been removed from the worship area.

 

Entry to the sanctuary (Sunday):

  • All people will enter through the open doors, as designated.

  • Offering may be deposited in the basket provided.

  • Volunteers will be taking attendance for all those present.

  • People are advised to take your seats ASAP – Please sign-in. NO gathering in the back of the sanctuary.

  • Available seating will be designated by the roping or taping off according to a seating chart.

  • All single people must sit by themselves. Family members may sit together. Social distancing will be practiced at all times.

  • Bibles, communion cards, etc. have been removed from the pews.

 

Worship Services will be ELW liturgy with Holy Communion.

  • Music will be provided during Saturday worship by the organ or piano only until May 1.

  • There will be NO passing of the peace, handshakes or passing the offering plates during worship.

 

 

Holy Communion will be offered at each service:

  • There will be no kneeling. Worshippers will move forward at the direction of an usher.

  • The pastor will use tongs to distribute the communion wafer, to avoid any contact.

  • Wine will be distributed by the pouring chalice.  Worshippers will secure a cup after having received the wafer.

  • ALL traffic flow will follow the directions of an usher and maintain social distancing.

 

Leaving worship:

  • Bulletins may disposed of in the box provided.

  • People should proceed directly to any of the open doors or elevator.

  • NO gathering inside the church.

 

Doors will be closed 15 minutes after the service.

 

 

We are in this together and each of us must follow the guidelines to assure the safety of everyone.  Thank you very much for your attention to these guidelines.
