The Walden M. Holl Library

Our Library

First's Library has over 5,000 books, from children's books, Christian references, fiction, non-fiction and local history. Visit the library for a display of materials related to themes of the liturgical year.

The library also has a special collection of bereavement books to assist those of all ages in coping with deaths and serious illnesses. There are also books dealing with Alzheimer's. Stop by and browse.

The cookbook made by the Fidelis Sunday School Class many years ago has now been repaired and ready for use. This copy was donated by Annie Hayes (used by both her Mother and Grandmother). In looking through it, I remembered names of several church members from years ago.

NEW BOOKS THIS MONTH:

The two new volume set of Johnstown Memories will be available in the Library after the first of the year.

The first volume is – Johnstown Memories – the Early Years. The second volume is – Johnstown Memories II (1940-50-60).

Travel down memory lane with all the wonderful photos and stories in these wonderful books.

Book Discussion? Would you like to help form a book discussion group? The book would be selected in advance with plenty of reading time. Then a discussion date would be set. Open to all. If interested, speak to Barb Pingatore, Ann Furlong or Patty Riddle. Or email firstlutheran@wpia.net.
